What we teach
Year 1 follows eight educational modules plus catch-and-release tournaments. Saturday education. Sunday tournaments. Enroll once in the program — we’ll email you dates as they’re set.

Fish identification & habitats
Common inshore species — snook, redfish, trout, mangrove snapper. Mangrove, seagrass, and inlet habitats, and the food web that holds them together.

Water safety deep dive
Weather awareness, rip currents and shore hazards, emergency signaling, and what to do if someone falls in.

Ethical angling
Catch-and-release handling, tools, and revival. FWC size and bag limits. Leave No Trace and marine debris.

First aid for anglers
Hook removal, cuts, sun, and heat illness. Basic bleeding control, when to call 911, and a hands-only CPR overview — taught by working firefighter-paramedics.
Conservation
Conservation in action
Local water quality, habitat loss, and invasive species. Citizen science and a personal conservation commitment teens can keep after the session ends.

Advanced skills & leadership
Casting accuracy, peer teaching, the buddy system, and goal-setting for a personal angling or conservation project.

Careers in marine science, conservation, emergency services, and the marine trades — plus prep for the family showcase.
Tournament
Educational tournament
Not a cash shootout. Pre-event safety briefing, conservation scoring, skill checkpoints, and a debrief on learning and sportsmanship. Family invited.
